Instructions: Christmas tree

Today we have quick instructions for a magical 3D Christmas tree for you. It's super easy to make and is ideal for brightening up your Christmas table or gifts.

What do you need for this?

Material:

  • For each Christmas tree you need a square paper of your choice (e.g. 21 x 21 cm)

Tool:

Material overview

Step 1

Prepare fold lines

First you need a square piece of paper. In our example we use a cardstock that we have cut to size 21 x 21 cm. But you can use any measurement you like, as long as the format remains square.

Fold the paper in half horizontally and vertically once. Then open and turn the sheet.

Then fold the paper diagonally and then open it again.

Step 2

Fold the paper

The two center points on the right and left are now folded inwards so that they touch each other.

The paper is now folded as shown, creating a triangular pocket

Fold the right and left front tips inward and repeat on the other side.

Now fold back the tip you just created and open it. The outer edge is now tucked inside.

Repeat this step for all 4 tips.

Step 3

Finish the basic shape & add details

Then cut off the excess paper at the bottom.

Now, for added detail, you can cut multiple times into the sides of the tree to create branch tiers.

Make sure you leave enough distance from the center line.

You can then fold the resulting points inwards. Repeat this with each individual layer.

Tip : If you fold all the points in the same direction, you will create a more harmonious overall picture.

And your 3D Christmas tree is ready!

It can now be further decorated and adorned as desired.

Psst… our Nepal papers can also be used wonderfully for the Christmas trees.

We hope you enjoy crafting.
