To bring these new, smart boxes to life, it would be nice to fold matching envelopes.
These then offer the possibility of vouchers for every day, for birthdays, for Advent or simply throughout the year.
We have a quick and easy guide to help you create the perfect envelope.
Material:
- Design paper for the card ( 15 x 10 cm per card)
- Paper for the envelope ( 21 x 21 cm , approx. 120 g such as our glossy paper or cardstock
Tool:
Preparation
To do this, take a sheet of paper measuring 21 x 21 cm and place it diagonally in front of you. The base card will be 15 x 10 cm and will serve as a template for marking.
Cut both to size and you're ready to go!
Step 1
Place the base map as a template in the middle of the sheet of paper, at the same distance from all corners.
The best way to do this is to mark the middle of the long and short sides of the card and place it in the middle of the diagonal lines.
step 2
Draw auxiliary lines and fold
After you have traced all 4 sides of the shape with the pencil, add a border of about 2-3 mm . Make sure that you extend the outline lines right to the edge to get a clean result.
After you have carefully folded the drawn lines, you should carefully erase the pencil marks to achieve a clean end result.
Scoring will help you create clean, precise fold lines and make folding easier. Be sure to apply gentle pressure to avoid damaging the paper.
step 3
Fold
Now start with the two side parts of the envelope and fold them inwards towards the middle. Then you can fold the bottom part upwards.
Fold the protruding tip inwards again. To do this, mark a straight guideline from the left to the right edge of the envelope, parallel to the bottom edge.
Step 4
Stick
Apply double-sided tape to the designated places as shown in the drawing and glue the bottom half of the envelope closed at the top.
And your envelope is ready!
It fits perfectly in our new envelope boxes, but can of course also be used as is. Have fun making it and giving it as a gift!
