Gitti's magical Advent boxes

We are fast approaching the wonderful Advent season and have already recreated a magical idea from our dear Gitti in our cheerful Christmas collection. These quickly made Advent boxes offer plenty of space for pre-Christmas surprises!

As a special extra, there is a suitable plotter file for you to download HERE.

What you need for this

Paper and material for plotting and gluing
plotted paper ready for folding

Advent, Advent, a box is created...

First one thing:

The first thing to do with the plotter is to make sure that your design paper has the right grain, at least for the front of the box tower. This will ensure that your pattern is not upside down afterwards.

plotted paper is folded
paper with double-sided adhesive tape is folded
Paper box is further glued

Fold all of your plotted papers, fold them inwards and attach double-sided adhesive tape to the adhesive tabs. Attach the two large folded pieces of paper together by leaving the open side at the top. Now put the valley-folded paper into this.

almost finished box receives last piece of adhesive paper

Then two:

second paper box folded
second paper box glued

The second Advent box goes directly on top of the first and consists of a very simple cube. Here all the folded sides come together and are also connected with double-sided tape.

folded and glued box is closed

Then three:

The third box for the Advent tower is a bit tricky - but with the right approach it's no problem.

Here it might be useful to start with the two V-shaped valleys. These are closed with the two small rectangles.

third box is glued to the valleys
third box glued to the other side
Paper box gets a lid

Now find the matching side part and glue this on as well, so that the little tip has a matching counterpart on the other side, as shown in the picture.

Then four:

The fourth box is again similar to the second and therefore very simple.

small paper box is glued
paper cube is glued

The two parts are glued together and form the 6 sides of the cube.

And now the Advent box tower is at your place!

We hope you have fun decorating and dressing up this little Advent surprise!

Hallo Gitti,
