Hello, today we are looking at another tool from Vaessen Creative. The Card, Envelope & Box Maker - a tool with which you can make several things at once.
When you receive and unpack the maker, you will find the following things:
An illustrated guide, the folding board & bone folder and on the other side the tool for envelopes and boxes. There is also a punch tool, a punch to round off the corners and punch out the folded corners.
Envelopes
To create a simple envelope, do the following:
On the page for the envelopes you will find a small list (in cm and in inches) with the dimensions of the paper, the fold lines and the finished size.
I cut a piece of paper measuring 24 cm x 24 cm for my first envelope.
I now place this square with the left side on the edge, the bottom edge is (according to the list) at 10.2 cm. Now I take the bone folder and pull through the specified fold line.
I repeat this step on all sides.
When you're done with the fold lines, pick up the punch. We now need this for the corners, for rounding and the notch for folding.
Where the fold lines intersect, place the page with the NOTCH and punch the notch on all 4 sides.
Now we turn the punch and round off our four corners.
Of course, you can skip this step if you prefer sharp corners.
The last step is to fold the envelope and pull the fold over the edges.
The lower part is glued together so that it can be used as a real envelope. Here you can also avoid gluing and close the envelope with a ribbon.
Box
Our tool can also create small boxes... First, I created a box according to specifications. To do this, I cut my paper to the size of 21 cm x 21 cm and folded it at 7 cm and 14 cm. Here two fold lines are drawn per page. Rotate 90° and draw two fold lines on all sides.
The notch punch is now being used again.
Where the fold lines meet, the notches are punched and next the corners are rounded. To finish the box we now need scissors and double-sided tape or liquid glue.
We now use scissors to cut one side of each square and glue the resulting flap to the inside to form our box.
Our finished box can now be filled and closed with a ribbon and bow.
Next I created a narrower box. To do this, I cut another piece of paper measuring 21 cm x 21 cm and folded it this time at 12 cm and 14 cm. We repeat this step on all sides.
In order to use this box as a box, we have to cut away some parts with scissors. In the photos below you can see what needs to be left.
Cut along the tabs/squares on each side. You have to leave a recess in the inner corners so that you can glue a box.
The 4 triangles for closing are longer in this version and basically extend to the opposite side.
You could shorten it here, but I made a slit with the cutter to close it so that I could insert the corner. This holds up great.
This tool is really great for quickly and easily creating envelopes, cards and boxes. In the illustrated instructions you will find ideas for card formats and instructions for use.
