Material overview

Preparation

If you use our calendar bundle, you only need to cut the kraft paper, design paper and book linen.

Cuts ( width x length )

Bookcloth

8cm x 30.5cm

8cmx28.5cm

Greyboard

2x 29cm x 12cm

29cm x 2.5cm

Design paper

2x 30.5cm x 11.8cm

2x 11.5cm x 28.5cm

Kraft paper

2x 29cm x 8cm

Step 1: Cover and spine of the calendar

Glue the grey cardboard for the spine of the calendar onto the middle of the wrapping paper. Turn it to the outside, mark 5 mm on the left and right, and trace the edges with the bone folder.

Glue grey cardboard strips to the middle of the kraft paper
Use a ruler to make marks on the left and right sides of the kraft paper

Apply glue to the edges of the two grey cardboard pieces for the covers and stick them to the wrapping paper, leaving a gap of 5 mm between them and the spine. Use the bone folder to work it well so that a kind of "joint" is created between the covers and the spine.

The fold lines between the cardboards are reworked with a bone folder

Step 2: Conceal the outside

Mark the front cover at a distance of 20 mm from the spine. Glue the wrapping paper and cardboard up to the mark and glue the book cloth on from the mark.

Now glue the design paper and stick it onto the book cloth and the remaining grey cardboard with a 2 mm overlap.
The book linen and the design paper are available because of our design paper format
only 7.5 mm above, please work with particular care!

design paper strips are glued over the book cloth to the markings

Before gluing the overhangs, the corners are trimmed with a gap of 2 mm from the grey cardboard. Now apply a thin layer of glue to the upper overhang, fold it inwards and fold it at the corner. Then do the same for the lower and side overhangs.

Use a roller to press the folded edges firmly

Step 3: Glue the inside of the calendar

We now continue working on the inside. Glue two more pieces of design paper to the middle left and right of the grey cardboard so that they cover the overlapping book cloth as well as the design paper on the outside.

Press design paper firmly with a roller

Carefully glue the book cloth and stick it in the middle over the inside of the spine. Fold the spine again well.

Press the finished envelope tightly together and let it dry for a day.

Step 4: Insert the ring mechanism

Place the ring mechanism in the middle of the right spine edge. When closed, the corners of the calendar must line up neatly.

Insert the ring mechanism and fold the cover

Then mark the holes, punch holes and attach the ring mechanism (rivet head facing outwards!). Finally, hang up the appropriately punched calendar pages.

Mark the position of the holes for fastening the ring mechanism with a pencil
Punch the holes on the marking with the eyelet punch

Insert calendar pages into the ring mechanism

Now the calendar can be individually decorated and beautify the desk ♥

Have fun making it
