Gansai Tambi watercolor paint sets

There is something wonderful to discover again!

Today we’re talking about the new colors from Gansai Tambi .

This year Kuretake released two beautiful new color sets – the Granulating Colors set and the Sumi Colors set.

Here we would like to introduce you to both watercolor paint sets and explain what is behind them.

Granulating Colors

The 'Granulating Colors' set consists of 5 colors that are based on the different phases of the sunrise:

  • Aurora Red
  • Aurora Pink
  • Aurora Orange
  • Aurora Blue
  • Aurora Violet

A true spectacle of colors is hidden within them – even if it looks different at first.

Color overview of Granulating Colors

The idea behind granulating colors is that the color pigments meet in small groups when they are painted, bringing life to the paper. Kuretake has taken this idea a step further and created an interplay of colors using various water-based pigments.

All colors consist of a primary and secondary color, which appear with varying intensity depending on the amount of water.

Aurora Blue, for example, has a clear orange undertone that creates beautiful effects with lots of water.

This way you can not only transform punched motifs into colorful eye-catchers, but also color your favorite stamps. The more water you use, the dreamier the end result will be.

But be careful: the Aurora colors almost have a 'will of their own', so you should be prepared to welcome creative slip-ups or "happy little accidents" with open arms.

For lovers of watercolor paints or for fans of coloring, these colors are an exciting alternative that invites you to play.

Tip: The combination of watercolor paint and a stamp motif with embossing powder is also exciting for unique effects!

Kuretake themselves describe the play of colors as wondrous and dreamy – for us they are definitely a beauty!

Sumi Colors

The 'Sumi Colors', on the other hand, remain in a dark color world. The set consists of 6 colors that are based on the traditional Sumi ink.

  • Sumi Red
  • Sumi Yellow
  • Sumi Green
  • Sumi Blue
  • Sumi Violet
  • Sumi Brown

The classic Sumi ink is enriched with soot to create deep and strong tones. Kuretake has now reinterpreted these as granulating watercolors.

Here, too, the rich pigments come together to create unique styles during the drying process. But unlike the 5 Aurora colors, here only one strong color is in the foreground, which can be painted in different light or dark colors depending on the amount of water.

Here, too, it is a good idea to pick up your favorite stamp and start coloring.

Ludovic, for example, used them to color the clear stamp 'DIY with flowers'.

Of course, you can also punch out different die-cut pieces from the painted colors and thus create monochrome cards and layouts.

Conclusion on the colors

Both paint boxes score points for their granulating properties. They bring structure and liveliness to the paper and create exciting effects without much effort.

We hope you enjoy coloring!

Super erklärt und da die Kuretake Farben super sind, eine hohe Pigmentierung haben, kann ich mich gerade nicht entscheiden, mit welchem ich starten würde. Danke Ludovico fürs zeigen.
