Fine stamping with Versa Fine Clair

Many of you have asked us how you can best put small or particularly fine stamp motifs perfectly on paper. Our dear Jennifer has tinkered and is now the official

Renke stamp expert conjured up this article.

The right ink pad

If you want very fine, detailed stamp motifs that also shine in bright colors, the pigment-rich Versa Fine Clair ink pad offers a particularly beautiful, waterproof result.

These oil-based paint pads are simply unbeatable in many areas, including coloring with watercolors .

The right technique

The height or width of a stamp motif also plays a role.

The larger the motif, the more care must be taken to ensure that no area or corner is subjected to less pressure when stamping onto the surface.

The amount of ink on the stamp is also important. Not too much, not too little.

Any color that runs over the design should be removed while still on the stamp. It is best to test your final design once and then add a few dabs of color to leave the final stamp impression.

Wooden stamp

When using wooden stamps , it is important to stamp evenly but also with a lot of pressure. For example, you can use the whole palm of your hand and press vertically onto the stamp from above for 1-2 seconds.

Rocking the surface back and forth is not necessary here and rather results in double lines. The rubber on the wooden stamp only gives way to a certain extent and so the more pressure the better, even with super fine, delicate motifs or lines

Clear Stamps

With clear stamps it is important to use direct but also more timid stamping.

When handling an acrylic block, rocking should be avoided at all costs.

Uniform, single printing leads to clean and detailed results.

A stamping aid can be particularly helpful here, as it is only possible to a limited extent to apply even pressure with the palm of your hand when stamping large-area motifs.
